FULL TERM student accommodation for Lews Castle College.
Q. Where is the Bayhead Bridge Centre?
A. Our address is: Bayhead Bridge Centre Lamont Lane Stornoway Isle of Lewis HS1 2EB
It is a short walk to Lews Castle College, shops, restaurants, pubs, churches, museums, cinema, golf course, tennis courts, centre of town, bus terminal, and ferry terminal.
The BAYHEAD BRIDGE CENTRE is on Bayhead next to the Bridge entrance to the Castle Grounds
Q. What type of accommodation is available?
A. Study bedrooms with en-suite facilities (toilet, basin, and shower). All bedrooms are supplied with one change of bed linen, study desk, and comfortable chairs. Full Term student tenants are required to keep the rooms clean and tidy and inspections are made approximately every 2 weeks.
Every 5 bedrooms have a communal kitchen equipped with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Each kitchen has a lounge area with freeview TV. A commercial coin operated laundry is on the premises. Full Term student tenants must provide their own tableware, plates, bowls, cups and glasses.
Q. How much is the rent?
A. Full college term leases start at £ 80.00 per week.
Charity, cultural, and other educational organizations start at £18.00 per single room per night.

Q. How do I Pay?
A. The Bridge Centre accepts cash, cheque and BAC payments for your lease. A schedule of rent due dates is given to each full term resident at the start of their lease. Contact us to discuss other lease payment methods.
Q. What other expenses might be involved?
A. For full college term accommodation there is a damage deposit required of £250.00. This deposit is held by the Centre until the end of the lease and a report on any damage charges that need to be subtracted from the deposit will be given to you at the end of the lease term along with a cheque for any monies you are entitled to.
Q. Is there internet access available?
A. Yes, we have internet coverage in every Study Bedroom for a small user fee.
Q. Can I bring my own TV to use in my room?
A. Freeview TV is provided in the communal kitchens. Kitchens are closed at 11pm and reopened at 7am.
Some students have their own TV’s for watching DVD’s or playing games. Televisions must be in good working condition and comply with relevant regulation and may need to be tested for suitability (a small fee may apply for this).
Q. Can I bring my stereo and electric guitar, keyboard, bagpipes or drums, etc.?
A. We enforce a noise curfew at 10pm. There is no restriction on having these items but you must respect the other residents’ right to a peaceful tenancy.
Q. What is the Bridge Centre’s policy on SMOKING and ALCOHOL?
A. The Bridge Centre is dedicated to providing a healthy environment for all residents therefore we do not allow smoking in any rooms including communal areas. Absolutely NO drunken or anti social behaviour is tolerated at the Bridge Centre,
Q. What do I need to bring with me?
A. Clothing and personal hygiene products, college supplies, and entertainment equipment. The accommodation is equipped with everything else you need except food.
Q. What are the facilities for meals?
A. Kitchens are equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve meals. Cupboards and refrigerators, toasters and microwaves are located in each kitchen There are numerous take away and restaurants nearby providing a variety of options.
